Malin Akerman joins Hawke at the 'Station'

Malin Akerman has joined the cast of the CIA thriller "The Numbers Station," opposite Ethan Hawke.

According to Variety, Kasper Barfoed is directing from an F. Scott Frazier script.

Sean and Bryan Furst are producing through their Furst Films along with Hawke’s Under the Influence Productions.

The film follows Hawke’s disgraced black ops agent as he must protect a young woman (Akerman) in the middle of the Nevada desert from killers.

The $10 million film will begin shooting in early 2011.

Akerman’s recent screen credits include "Couples Retreat" and "The Heartbreak Kid." She can be seen opposite Katie Holmes in "The Romantics," which opens this week.

Hawke is currently shooting Pawel Pawlikowski's "The Woman in the Fifth," opposite Kristin Scott Thomas.
