Natalie Portman offered 'Gravity'

Warner Bros. has offered Natalie Portman the lead in their epic 3D space drama "Gravity."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the offer comes hot off the strong buzz over Portman’s disturbing performance in Darren Aronofsky's upcoming psychological thriller "Black Swan."
Alfonso Cuaron is directing "Gravity" from a script he co-wrote with his brother Jonas.
Robert Downey Jr. is attached in a supporting role.
The female lead has been one of the most highly sought after roles in Hollywood after Angelina Jolie pulled out due to salary concerns. Scarlett Johansson and Blake Lively had been thought to be the finalists for the role until Portman was offered it.
The story centers on a woman stranded on a space station after satellite debris crashes into it and kills the rest of the crew.
The $80 million production is scheduled to shoot at the end of January.
