By Adnan Tezer Sep 2, 2010, 1:25 GMT
George Clooney is preparing to direct the political drama "Farragut North" in February, with offers out to Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti and Chris Pine.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is based on the off-Broadway play of the same name written by Beau Willimon.
Based loosely on the 2004 Democratic primary campaign of Howard Dean, the film focuses on dirty campaign tricks in Des Moines, Iowa, just weeks before the state's Democratic caucuses.
Pine, in a role Leonardo DiCaprio was once attached to, would play the main political organizer of a presidential candidate.
Hoffman and Giamatti would play rival campaign managers.
Offers are also out to Evan Rachel Wood and Marisa Tomei. Clooney plans on playing a small role in the movie as well.
