Jessica Alba is in advanced talks to star in Robert Rodriguez’s 3D film "Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World" for Dimension Films.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the fourth installment of the "Spy Kids" series will be a reboot of the franchise.
Rodriguez wrote and directed each of the previous three films in the series.
The films starred Alexa Vega and Daryl Sabara as the children of superspy parents (Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino).
The new movie will focus on Alba who plays a retired spy who has been reactivated. Since her retirement, the spy has become the mother of a baby and two preteen stepchildren.
The actors cast as the stepchildren will be the new Spy Kids.
It is expected that Banderas, Vega and Sabara will return in supporting roles.
The film, with a budget of less than $30 million, will start shooting next month in Austin, Texas.
This will be the third time Alba has worked with Rodriguez. She starred in 2005’s "Sin City" and appears in "Machete," that opens Sept. 3.
