Robert De Niro is in final talks to join the cast of the Italian romance "Manual of Love 3."
According to Variety, Giovanni Veronesi is directing the latest installment of the franchise produced by Aurelio De Laurentiis. All three installments have been directed by Veronesi.
De Niro’s role, a divorced American professor living in Rome, will be partly spoken in Italian.
The film will start shooting in Rome on September 24.
The two previous "Manual of Love" films opened in 2005 and 2007 and grossed a total of $45 million at the Italian box office.
It will be the first foreign-language production for De Niro since 1976, when he starred in Bernardo Bertolucci's epic "1900."
De Niro will be seen next in the upcoming films "Stone," "Machete" and "Little Fockers." He recently wrapped shooting on "The Dark Fields" and "Killer Elite."
