Rose Byrne is in talks to join the cast of Fox's origins film "X-Men: First Class."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Matthew Vaughn is directing from a Jane Goldman script.
The cast includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Alice Eve.
The origin story of the "X-Men" franchise focuses on Charles Xavier (McAvoy) and Erik Lensherr (Fassbender) as young men before they became Professor X and Magneto.
Byrne will play Moira MacTaggert, a genetic scientist, who is the love interest of Charles Xavier.
Byrne recently received her second Emmy nomination for her work opposite Glenn Close in the FX drama "Damages." She appeared in this summer's "Get Him to the Greek."
