'Expendables' blasts to top of box office

Lionsgate's Sylvester Stallone action ensemble "The Expendables" surprised many as it won the domestic box office weekend with an opening of $35 million.
In addition to starring, Stallone co-wrote and directed a testosterone-soaked cast including Dolph Lundgren, Steve Austin, Jet Li, Eric Roberts, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis and Jason Statham.
According to Variety, Sony's Julia Roberts drama "Eat Pray Love" opened at No. 2 with $23.7 million.
Sony's buddy comedy "The Other Guys" landed in the No. 3 spot with $18 million for a domestic cumulative of $70.5 million.
Warner Bros.' "Inception" finished at No. 4 with $11.4 million for a domestic cumulative of $248.6 million.
Universal's fantasy film "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World" opened at No. 5 with $10.5 million.
