Tim Blake Nelson has joined the cast of Working Title’s drama "Everybody Loves Whales."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ken Kwapis is directing a cast that includes John Krasinski, Drew Barrymore and Kristen Bell.
Set in Cold War-era 1988, the film tells the true story of a small-town news reporter (Krasinski) and a Greenpeace volunteer (Barrymore) who seek the help of rival superpowers to save three gray whales trapped under the Arctic Circle ice.
The film is based on Tom Rose's nonfiction book "Freeing the Whales: How the Media Created the World's Greatest Non-Event."
Production begins this fall.
Nelson recently wrapped shooting "The Big Year," with Jack Black, Steve Martin and Owen Wilson and is working on "Flypaper," opposite Patrick Dempsey and Ashley Judd.
