Kurt Russell has joined the cast of Freedom Films' drama "Touchback."
According to Variety, writer/director Don Handfield will begin shooting this week in Michigan.
The cast includes Brian Presley ("Home of the Brave"), Melanie Lynskey ("Up in the Air") and Christine Lahti ("Obsessed").
Presley plays a down-on-his-luck farmer and volunteer fireman whose promising high school football career was cut short when he was critically injured during a playoff game. He gets the chance to change the course of his life when he's unexpectedly placed back to that fateful playoff game.
Russell will play Presley’s high school football coach.
Russell’s last film was Quentin Tarantino’s "Death Proof" segment in 2007’s "Grindhouse."
