Daniel Craig closes deal for 'Dragon Tattoo'

Daniel Craig has officially signed on to star in Sony’s "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Craig will also star in the two follow-ups that will be adapted from author Stieg Larsson’s best-selling trilogy.
David Fincher is directing from a Steven Zaillian script. Scott Rudin is producing.
With development and production on the next James Bond film currently halted because of MGM’s financial restructuring, the Larsson trilogy provides Craig with a new franchise to headline.
Craig is currently filming the DreamWorks sci-fi action film "Cowboys & Aliens" for a July 2011 release. He will also appear later in 2011, in motion-capture form, in Steven Spielberg's "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn."
Craig has also wrapped the Universal thriller "Dream House."
Sony has "Tattoo" scheduled for a December 21, 2011 release.
