Tim Burton is attached to direct the big screen adaptation of Matt Wilson's board game "Monsterpocalypse" for DreamWorks.
According to Variety, the film is being produced by Dick Zanuck and Roy Lee. Tarik Heitmann, Gerald Moon and Doug Davison are executive producing.
Wilson, who is also a co-producer, is working with writer John August on the script.
The game revolves around giant robots developed by mankind to fight off equally giant aliens.
There is some speculation that the film could be released in 3D, however nothing has been finalized yet.
Burton’s last film was Disney’s 3D box office hit "Alice in Wonderland" starring Johnny Depp. He will reteam with Depp on Warner Bros.' "Dark Shadows."
