Warner Bros. has moved forward on a 3D "Clash of the Titans" sequel, signing David Leslie Johnson and Dan Mazeau to write the screenplay.
According to Variety, there is no director or release date set. Star Sam Worthington is expected to reprise his role as Perseus but director Louis Leterrier will not return.
"Clash of the Titans" delivered a solid box office performance that reached nearly $500 million worldwide. Much of the film’s success came overseas, where the film grossed $325 million, or more than double the $161 million domestic total.
Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures will distribute with Basil Iwanyk returning as producer.
Johnson wrote last summer's "Orphan" and Mazeau has worked on the scripts for "Jonny Quest" and "The Flash."
