James Franco is 'Ricky Stanicky'

Summit has bought the comedy spec script "Ricky Stanicky" with James Franco attached to play the title character.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jeff Bushell ("Beverly Hills Chihuahua") wrote the script.
The story begins when three teens pull a prank and burn down a house in their neighborhood. They create a fake person (Ricky Stanicky) to take the blame. Twenty years later into their adult lives, they are still using the false person to get out of every sticky spot they fall into. When their wives demand to meet Stanicky, they hire an actor (Franco).
Michael de Luca is producing with Smart Entertainment's John Jacobs.
Franco can be seen in the upcoming Universal comedy "Your Highness," followed by the Julia Roberts romantic drama "Eat Pray Love."
