Actors join 'Rampart'

Ice Cube, Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster will star in Oren Moverman's police drama "Rampart."
The film reunites Harrelson and Foster with Moverman, who directed them in "The Messenger," his directorial debut. Harrelson received a supporting actor Oscar nomination for his work in the film and Moverman was nominated for original screenplay.
Based on James Ellroy’s screenplay, "Rampart" focuses on the scandal that grew out of severe L.A. police misconduct in the late 1990s in the Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums (CRASH) anti-gang program.
Harrelson will play the lead character, an LAPD officer searching for redemption as he finds himself involved in the scandal. Ice Cube and Foster will also play LAPD officers.
According to Variety, Lawrence Inglee and Clark Peterson are producing with principal photography scheduled for late August in Los Angeles.
