Koren could have a 'Friend'

Lionsgate is in talks with screenwriter Steve Koren to adapt the magazine article "Will You Be My Black Friend?"
According to Variety, the film is set up at Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Films and is being developed for Chris Rock to star in.
Lionsgate acquired the feature rights last fall to the 2008 GQ magazine article "Will You Be My Black Friend?" written by Devin Friedman about his humorous and frequently clumsy attempts to make friends with people of color.
Winfrey will produce with her Harpo Films president Kate Forte.
Koren was a producer and writer on "Bruce Almighty" and "Click."
