Universal Pictures and Working Title have greenlit a sequel to the 2003 British comedy "Johnny English" starring Rowan Atkinson.
According to Variety, production is expected to begin in August.
The original, which cost $40 million to make, earned just $28 million domestically but enjoyed huge success overseas for a $161 million worldwide total. Along with Atkinson, the film also starred John Malkovich and Natalie Imbruglia.
Atkinson will reprise his role as the titular bumbling British spy.
Oliver Parker ("St. Trinian's") will direct from a Hamish McColl screenplay. McColl also wrote 2007's "Mr. Bean's Holiday," which also starred Atkinson.
Working Title's Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner are producing along with Chris Clark.
