Anna Friel is in talks to join the cast of Relativity Media's thriller "Dark Fields," starring Bradley Cooper.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Neil Burger will direct from a Leslie Dixon script with Universal distributing the film domestically.
Dixon and Scott Kroopf are producing along with Relativity's Ryan Kavanaugh.
The story focuses on a failed writer (Cooper) who experiences sudden financial and social success after stumbling onto a top-secret pharmaceutical drug that makes one smarter. He later discovers that the drug has deadly side effects.
Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish have already been cast. Friel will play Cooper's ex-wife.
Friel can be seen in the upcoming Woody Allen film "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger" as well as Oscar-winning writer William Monahan’s directorial debut, "London Boulevard."
