Greengrass likes a 'Fantastic Voyage'
By Adnan Tezer Apr 1, 2010, 20:31 GMT
Paul Greengrass is in early talks to direct the 3D remake of the 1966 adventure-fantasy "Fantastic Voyage" for 20th Century Fox.
"Fantastic Voyage" will be shot using the same 3D technologies James Cameron and Jon Landau's Lightstorm Entertainment developed for "Avatar." Both are producers on the project.
According to Variety, Shane Salerno ("Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem") will write the script.
The story centers on a dying scientist whose survival rests with five colleagues who are miniaturized and injected into his bloodstream.
The original "Fantastic Voyage" was directed by Richard Fleischer, and starred Raquel Welch and Donald Pleasence.
Greengrass' credits include "United 93," "The Bourne Supremacy," "The Bourne Ultimatum" and "Green Zone," which is currently in theaters.
