John Singleton will direct Lionsgate's "Abduction," a thriller with Taylor Lautner attached to star.
The story, based on an idea by Gotham Group's Jeremy Bell, focuses on a young man who discovers his own baby picture on a missing persons web site.
Shawn Christensen wrote the spec script.
According to Variety, production is expected to begin in July in Pittsburgh.
Gotham Group's Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Lee Stollman, Vertigo's Roy Lee and Doug Davison and Tailor Made's Dan Lautner will produce.
Singleton last directed "Four Brothers" in 2005. He received Oscar nominations for best director and best original screenplay for his 1991 directorial debut "Boyz N the Hood."
