'Buck Rogers' ready to blast off in 3D

Buck Rogers is coming to the big screen in 3D with Paul W.S. Anderson directing from a script by "Iron Man" co-writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.
According to Variety, Lawrence Abramson, Jeremy Bolt and Fredrik Malmberg will produce through Paradox Entertainment.
Buck Rogers, about a fighter pilot who awakens in the 25th century, was introduced in 1928 as Anthony Rogers in Philip Francis Nowlan's novella "Armageddon 2419 A.D." in the pulp magazine "Amazing Stories." The character was later renamed Buck Rogers and was featured in the comic strip "Buck Rogers in the 25th Century," which was published from 1929 to 1967.
Its success paralleled the development of space technology in the 20th Century and spawned radio shows, films and TV shows on ABC and NBC.
Details of the plot are being kept secret, but it will stick to the original plot of a present-day pilot thrust into the future.
Anderson recently directed Screen Gems' 3D "Resident Evil: Afterlife" that opens in September, and is working on a reboot of "The Three Musketeers" at Summit Entertainment.
