'Transformers 3' casting

Frances McDormand and John Malkovich have signed on to star in Paramount’s "Transformers 3."
Ken Jeong ("The Hangover") has also joined the cast. Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox are returning for the lead roles. Michael Bay, who directed the first two installments of the tentpole franchise, will direct from a script by Ehren Kruger.
According to Variety, pre-production on the film begins next month. The film will shoot in numerous locales including Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington DC, Texas, Florida, Africa, Moscow and China.
A release date of July 1, 2011 has been set.
"Transformers" is currently Paramount’s most valuable franchise. The first "Transformers" grossed $709.7 million worldwide, followed by $836.4 million for last year's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."
