Reitman knows his 'Friends'

Producer and director Ivan Reitman will direct Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher in an untitled romantic comedy for Paramount Pictures.
The working title for the film is "Friends With Benefits."
According to Variety, the script was written by Elizabeth Meriwether.
The logline is being kept under wraps, although the working title would lead one to believe that the film will explore the popular term "Friends With Benefits," which is used to describe a casual relationship between two people who may have a sexual relationship without necessarily demanding or expecting the extra commitments of a more formal romantic relationship.
Paramount has already set a Jan. 7, 2011 release date for the film.
Paramount is producing with Reitman's Montecito Picture Co., in association with Portman's handsomecharliefilms production company and Kutcher's Katalyst production company.
Reitman will produce, along with Montecito's Jeffrey Clifford and Joe Medjuck.
Reitman last directed "My Super Ex-Girlfriend" back in 2006. His credits include the "Ghostbusters" franchise, "Stripes" and "Dave."
