Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman will star in Universal's comedy "The Change-Up."
The plot centers on an upstanding, responsible family man (Bateman) who switches bodies with his slacker best friend (Reynolds).
David Dobkin ("Wedding Crashers") will direct from a script by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore ("The Hangover").
According to Variety, Neal Moritz will produce alongside Dobkin.
Universal is hoping for a September production date.
Bateman, who can be seen in "Up in the Air," has appeared in the Universal films "Smokin' Aces," "The Kingdom," "State of Play" and "Couples Retreat." He will be seen in the Universal comedy "Paul" coming out later this year.
Reynolds is hot off his two box office hits last year: "The Proposal" and "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." He is currently shooting Warner’s "Green Lantern" where he will play the title role.
