Ritchie to take on King Arthur

Warner Bros. is developing a King Arthur project with "Sherlock Holmes" director Guy Ritchie attached to direct from a script by "Trainspotting" writer John Hodge.
According to Variety, Hollywood Gang's Gianni Nunnari and Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Richard Suckle are producing. Hollywood Gang's Craig J. Flores is executive producing.
The film will be a re-imagining of the legend of King Arthur, a 6th century king who defended Britain against Saxon invaders.
Thomas Mallory's "Le Morte d'Arthur," published in 1485 as a compilation of French and English tales, will be used as source material. It is considered to be the best-known work of English-language Arthurian literature.
Ritchie’s credits include "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock,and Two Smoking Barrels."
Hodge's credits include "A Life Less Ordinary" and "The Beach."
