Liam Hemsworth, who co-stars in Disney's upcoming Miley Cyrus drama "The Last Song," will star in Inferno Entertainment's 3D adventure "Arabian Nights."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chuck Russell will direct from a script he wrote with Barry P. Ambrose. Production is scheduled to begin at the end of the summer.
Inferno's Bill Johnson is producing with Mark Ciardi and Gordon Gray of Mayhem Pictures.
The epic focuses on a young commander (Hemsworth) who, after his king is murdered, joins forces with Sinbad and Aladdin to rescue Queen Scheherazade.
Hemsworth booked "Arabian Nights" hot off the buzz he is generating from "The Last Song." His only other major film credit was in 2009's "Knowing."
Hemsworth is the brother of Chris Hemsworth, who stars as the title character in Marvel's superhero action fantasy "Thor," which is currently in production.
