Mickey Rourke in talks for Conan's father

Mickey Rourke is in advanced negotiations to play Conan the Barbarian’s father in Lionsgate’s new “Conan” film.
Marcus Nispel is directing the film, which is being produced by Nu Image/Millenium Films.
Jason Momoa (“Stargate Atlantis”) has been cast as Conan.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, shooting is scheduled to start in Bulgaria in March.
The story finds Conan seeking vengeance on those who slaughtered his family.
Rourke has been on a hot streak since his Oscar nomination for “The Wrestler” in 2009. He has a number of upcoming projects including “Passion Play” with Bill Murray and Megan Fox, "The Expendables" with Sylvester Stallone and “Iron Man 2” with Robert Downey Jr.
