Ian McShane could join 'Pirates'

Ian McShane is in negotiations to join "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," Disney's fourth installment in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise.
McShane would play Blackbeard, the infamous pirate that Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow faces off against as he seeks out the Fountain of Youth.
According to Variety, Penelope Cruz is also in talks to join the cast that includes Geoffrey Rush.
Rob Marshall will direct from a script by Terry Rossio and Ted Elliott.
Jerry Bruckheimer will produce. Disney has already set a May 20, 2011 release for the film.
McShane starred in HBO's "Deadwood" and NBC's "Kings."
