Costner planning a 'Little War'

Kevin Costner has signed on to direct and star in the action-adventure "A Little War of Our Own."
Costner will play a sheriff during World War II who must try to keep his town from descending into violence.
Beacon Pictures’ Armyan Bernstein will produce.
This will mark Costner’s first time behind the camera since 2003's "Open Range."
According to Variety, production is scheduled to begin in the fall.
Dan Gordon, who also wrote the 1994 Costner film "Wyatt Earp," wrote the screenplay.
Costner won Oscars for best picture and director for "Dances With Wolves" in 1990.
He recently starred with Ben Affleck and Tommy Lee Jones in John Wells' "The Company Men."
