New Line rebooting 'Vacation'
By Adnan Tezer Feb 13, 2010, 5:18 GMT
New Line will reboot the "Vacation" franchise.
According to Variety, the studio has hired Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley to write the script for the new film tentatively titled "Vacation."
The franchise, which started with 1983’s "National Lampoon’s Vacation" that starred Chevy Chase, produced three sequels that followed the Griswold family on holiday.
The new film will no longer carry the National Lampoon name and will focus on a grown-up Rusty Griswold who takes his own wife and kids on a road trip to Wally World.
Chase is expected to reprise his role as Clark Griswold, now a grandfather.
"Wedding Crashers" director David Dobkin is producing.
