Lucy Punch knows a 'Bad Teacher'

Lucy Punch will join Cameron Diaz in the comedy "Bad Teacher," which Jake Kasdan is directing for Columbia.Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg wrote the original screenplay which follows Elizabeth Halsey (Diaz), a crude seventh-grade teacher who pursues a fellow teacher after being dumped by her boyfriend. This brings her into conflict with another teacher at school, Amy Squirrel (Punch).According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jimmy Miller is producing.

Filming begins next month in Los Angeles.Punch can be seen in the upcoming Jay Roach-directed comedy "Dinner for Schmucks," which opens in July. She also stars in Woody Allen's "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger," opening in the fall.
