The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presents the annual must-see event for makeup artists and hairstylists that celebrates the work of the craft's three nominated artist teams for the Academy Award.
The Annual 82nd Oscar Nominated Makeup Artist and Hairstylist Symposium is set for the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at 2:30 PM, beginning at 1:30 PM.
This intimate Academy event for makeup artists and hairstylists celebrates the hard work and artistry of the three Oscar Nominated Films for Best Makeup for 2009.
Those who attend are able to meet and ask questions of the nominated individual makeup artists and hairstylists, and view examples of their work both in extended film clips and actual materials and models used in the makeup creation for their respective films.
Past events saw Oscar-winning makeup artist Ve Neill and hairstylist Martin Samuels display a variety of prosthetics and appliances from "Pirates of the Caribbean," and makeup artist Didier Lavergne and hairstylist Jan Archibald's array of wigs and prosthetics for actress Marion Cotillard in "La Vie en Rose."
Film clips selected by each makeup artist and hairstylist for presentation to the Motion Picture Academy during the nomination process will be shown.
A question and answer period is held toward the end of the event. Afterwards, attendees can engage in discussions with the nominees about their films and the processes involved in creating such artistry in the Academy Grand Lobby for a gala reception, and view the nominee’s displays.

Vitorio Sadano and Aldo Signoretti
