Orlando Bloom will star in the indie drama "The Good Doctor." According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Pena, Troy Garity, Courtney Ford, Taraji P. Henson, Rob Morrow and J.K. Simmons are in talks to co-star.Lance Daly will direct from a script by John Enbom ("Veronica Mars").Bloom will produce through his Viddywell Productions company. Jonathan King and Dan Etheridge also are producing.The film centers on a frustrated doctor (Bloom) looking for respect and admiration from his superiors and colleagues. When an 18-year-old patient with a kidney infection provides him with the self-esteem he’s been craving, the doctor adjusts her treatment so that she'll have to stay at the hospital with him.
Production begins this week in Los Angeles.
