Universal has pushed back the release of the comedy sequel to the "Meet the Parents" franchise, "Little Fockers," to Wednesday, Dec. 22.
The hope is to cash in on the long Christmas weekend. "Fockers" will now compete with Sony's "The Green Hornet," Warner Bros.' "Life As We Know It," 20th Century Fox's re-imagining of "Gulliver's Travels" and Paramount's Coen Brothers remake of "True Grit."
According to Variety, Universal will release the upcoming Matt Damon, Emily Blunt film "The Adjustment Bureau" on July 30, which was "Fockers" original opening date.
"Little Fockers" stars Ben Stiller, Robert DeNiro, Barbra Streisand, Dustin Hoffman, Jessica Alba, Laura Dern and Harvey Keitel. "Meet the Parents" grossed $166.2 million in 2000, while "Meet the Fockers" grossed $279.2 million in 2004.
