Isla Fisher, Andy Serkis and Tom Wilkinson have been cast along with Simon Pegg in "Burke and Hare," a horror comedy that will mark John Landis’ return to feature directing after over a decade.
"Hare," written by Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft, is based on the true story of a pair of the U.K.’s earliest serial killers, William Burke and William Hare. Both were gravediggers who sold the corpses of their victims to a medical college for dissection.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Serkis will play Hare with Pegg playing Burke.
Fisher will play Burke’s girlfriend while Wilkinson will play Dr. Robert Knox, an anatomy professor always on the prowl for fresh corpses.
The movie begins production Jan. 31 in Edinburgh and London, which will mark Landis’ return to where he shot his 1981 horror-classic "An American Werewolf in London."
