British director Michael Winterbottom ("A Mighty Heart") will direct the film "Promised Land," which deals with the Arab-Israeli conflict.
According to Variety, the film will deal with the build up to the 1948 partition of Palestine and the eventual creation of the state of Israel.
Jim Sturgess ("Across the Universe," "21") will star as a British officer hunting down extremist Jewish factions that launch terror attacks against British forces and Arabs during their campaign for statehood.
The film, which has a $5 million project, will start shooting in the summer.
Winterbottom's producing partner Andrew Eaton will produce through their Revolution Films production company.
