By Adnan Tezer Jan 22, 2010, 2:27 GMT
Martin Scorsese is in talks with Graham King Films to direct Brian Selznick's best-selling children's book "The Invention of Hugo Cabret."
This would be a reunion for Scorsese and his "Departed" producer Graham King.
The story centers on a 12-year-old orphan named Hugo, who lives in a train station in 1930s Paris and attempts to solve the mystery of a broken robot.
According to Variety, John Logan wrote the screenplay. Logan also wrote the screenplay for Scorsese's "The Aviator."
Scorsese's "Shutter Island," which stars Leonardo DiCaprio and was scheduled to be released on October 2, 2009, will open next month.
