Bill Murray will star as the villain in “Passion Play,” a romantic thriller being directed by Mitch Glazer.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rhys Ifans has also joined the cast which includes Megan Fox, Kelly Lynch and Mickey Rourke.
The story tells the tale of a washed-up trumpet player (Rourke) who saves a carnival-attraction angel (Fox) from Murray’s menacing mobster named Happy.
Annapurna Productions is producing with Jonah Hirsch and Daniel Dubiecki.
Glazer, who previously wrote “Scrooged” (which starred Murray), “Three of Hearts,” “The Recruit” and “Great Expectations,” is making his directorial debut with the picture.
Production just began in New Mexico.
