Cranston on his way to 'Mars'

"Breaking Bad" star Bryan Cranston has boarded Walt Disney's "John Carter of Mars."
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Andrew Stanton is directing.
Production is scheduled to begin next week.
The adaptation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs book series centers on a Civil War veteran (Taylor Kitsch) who finds himself transported to Mars, where he becomes involved in an interplanetary war.
Cranston will play a Civil War colonel who comes into conflict with Carter.
Lynn Collins, Willem Dafoe, Samantha Morton and Polly Walker have already been cast.
Stanton wrote the screenplay with Mark Andrews. Jim Morris and Colin Wilson are producing.
