Sarsgaard could be 'Green Lantern' villain

Peter Sarsgaard is in talks to portray the villain in Warner Bros.' "Green Lantern" based on the DC Comics hero.
Ryan Reynolds has already been cast as Hal Jordan, a second-generation test pilot, who defends a sector of the universe with a mystical green ring.
Blake Lively has been cast as the love interest.
Sarsgaard will portray Hector Hammond, a criminal created in the early 1960s who discovers meteor fragments that give him supernatural powers.
According to Variety, Donald DeLine is producing and Martin Campbell will direct with production expected to begin in March with a release date set for June 17, 2011.
Greg Berlanti is also producing and wrote the script with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.
