'Avatar' wins fourth straight weekend

20th Century Fox's James Cameron film "Avatar" held on to the No. 1 spot in the domestic and foreign box office for the fourth straight weekend.
It grossed $143 million in its fourth weekend overseas for a foreign total of $906.2 million. Domestically, the film grossed $48.5 million for a cumulative of $429 million and a worldwide total of $1.34 billion. That total is $460 million shy of Cameron's "Titanic" ($1.8 billion).
Warner Bros.' "Sherlock Holmes" finished at No. 2 with $16.6 million for a domestic total of $165.2 million.
Fox's "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel" finished No. 3 with $16.3 million for a domestic total of $178.2 million.
According to Variety, the only new release to crack the top five was Lionsgate's horror film "Daybreakers," which grossed $15 million.
Universal’s "It's Complicated" placed No. 5 for the weekend with $11 million for a cumulative of $76.4 million.
