'Thor' changes release date
By Adnan Tezer Jan 7, 2010, 2:41 GMT
Paramount and Marvel Entertainment have pushed up the release date of "Thor" by two weeks to May 6, 2011.
This comes 24 hours after news broke that production of "Spider-Man 4" would be delayed due to script problems.
"Thor" was to have opened May 20, 2011.
According to Variety, Disney wasted no time after Paramount’s decision and announced the May 20 date for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides." The fourth "Pirates" film did not previously have a release date.
Sony said that, despite the script delays, it was still hoping to make the coveted, first weekend of summer May 6 date for "Spider-Man 4."
Two of the three "Spider-Man" pictures have opened the first weekend of summer; the third, over the Memorial Day holiday.
