Weaver to ride 'Rapids'

Sigourney Weaver and Alia Shawkat are joining the cast of "Cedar Rapids," the Fox Searchlight comedy to be directed by Miguel Arteta. Ed Helms, John C. Reilly and Anne Heche have already been cast.According to Variety, shooting is underway.

The screenplay is written by Phil Johnston, who developed the comedy with Helms. Helms plays a sad-sack insurance agent who goes to an industry convention to try and save the jobs of his colleagues.

Weaver plays Helms' former seventh-grade teacher.
