'This Is It' wins the box office weekend

Sony's "This Is It" opened to an enormous $68.5 million at the international box office but the Michael Jackson film's domestic debut topped out at $32.5 million in its first five days.

"This Is It" opened Tuesday night and won the top spot in the domestic box office weekend over Paramount's sleeper hit "Paranormal Activity."

According to Variety, "Paranormal" grossed an estimated $16.5 million for a cumulative of $84.8 million in its sixth weekend.

"Law Abiding Citizen" came in No. 3 for the weekend with $7.3 million for a cumulative of $51.4 million in its third weekend.

"Couples Retreat" took the No. 4 spot with $6.1 million for a cumulative of $86.7 million in its fourth weekend.

"Saw VI" fell to No. 5 with an estimated $5.6 million for a cumulative of $22.8 million.
