'Meatballs' wins a 'Cloudy' box office

Sony's 3-D cartoon "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs" won a slow domestic weekend box office with $30.1 million.
According to Variety, "Meatballs" posted the best opening weekend ever for a Sony Pictures Animation feature, eclipsing the $23.6 million launch for "Open Season" in the fall of 2006.
"Meatballs" outdrew the combined total of the three other weekend launches ("The Informant," "Love Happens" "Jennifer's Body").
Warner Bros.' Steven Soderbergh-directed "The Informant" starring Matt Damon opened with a modest $10.5 million to come in second place.
Lionsgate's "Tyler Perry's I Can Do Bad All by Myself" came in third place with $10.1 million. Its 10-day cumulative stands at $37.9 million.
Universal's Aaron Eckhart/Jennifer Aniston romancer "Love Happens" came in fourth with a disappointing $8.5 million in its debut weekend.
Fox's much-hyped Megan Fox horror-comedy "Jennifer's Body" grossed just $6.8 million in its debut.
