Anton Yelchin to be part of 'The Beaver'

Anton Yelchin will co-star with Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster in the independent dark comedy "The Beaver," with Foster directing.

Anonymous Content's Steve Golin and Keith Redmon are producing.

According to Variety, Yelchin will portray the son of Gibson's and Foster's characters. Gibson plays a depressed man who finds happiness in wearing a beaver hand-puppet; Foster will play his wife, whom the son pleads with to get a divorce.

Summit Entertainment picked up "The Beaver" last month and plans for a late 2010 or early 2011 release.
