UFC fighter cast as B.A. Baracus in 'The A-Team'

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has booked the role of B.A. Baracus in Fox’s “A-Team” movie, stepping into the role originated by Mr. T.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jackson joins Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper in the big-screen adaptation, which is being directed by Joe Carnahan and produced by Ridley and Tony Scott.

The role of Baracus was the hardest to cast out of all the original T.V. characters as it carried the most iconic qualities. He was the breakout character of the series and became a cult icon worldwide.

In the pilot episode of the series, he was described as follows by a reporter: "Bosco Baracus. Known as B.A. for 'bad attitude.' The man is a mechanical genius. He also has one of the worst conduct records in the army. He likes to slug officers."

The character was a highly skilled but ill-tempered mechanic who preferred milk over alcohol, loved to fight but was afraid to fly, and spouted catchphrases. The role made Mr. T into a household name.

Rappers-turned-actors Common and the Game were rumored to be up for the part, which did see a testing process go through. 50 Cent was one actor who tested.
