Halle Berry ready for 'Tide'

Halle Berry is in talks to star in the action-thriller "Dark Tide" for director Clark Johnson ("S.W.A.T.").

According to Variety, "Twilight" producers Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey will produce "Dark" through their Temple Hill production company.

Social Capital Films is arranging financing for the $15 million-$20 million film. Martin Shore and Christopher Tuffin will produce along with Tax Credit Finance's Matthew Chausse and Plum Pictures' Celine Rattray.

The script, written by Amy Sorlie, concerns a diving instructor who returns to the water after a near-fatal incident with a Great White shark.

"Dark" is set to shoot in South Africa later this year.

The Steel Company's John Baca will handle executive producing duties, as well as literary manager Sukee Chew, who helped develop the script.
