By Adnan Tezer Sep 3, 2009, 18:29 GMT
Shohreh Aghdashloo and Marcia Gay Harden will be starring in the independent drama "The No Game."
Aghdashloo and Harden were Oscar-nominated for Best Supporting Actress in 2004 for their respective work in "House of Sand and Fog" and "Mystic River," and they're nominated for Emmys this year for "House of Saddam" and "The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler." Harden won Best Supporting Actress in 2001 for her work in Ed Harris’s “Pollock.”
Sherry Horman is directing the film, which follows an 18-year old Jewish girl who discovers her birth mother is Palestinian. This sets her off on a search for her identity that takes her to an aunt (Aghdashloo) in Brooklyn, where their immediate bonding causes problems with her adoptive mother (Harden, who is in negotiations).
According to The Hollywood Reporter, shooting begins next month in New York. The picture will also shoot in Israel.
David Abramowitz and Elizabeth Fein wrote the screenplay; Doris Kirch produces.
