'Bruno' debuts on top

Universal’s “Bruno,” the latest R-rated comedy from Sacha Baron Cohen, won the weekend box office as it opened with an estimated $30.4 million.

In "Bruno," Baron Cohen portrays a fictional and flamboyantly gay Austrian fashion-celebrity wannabe.According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox's 3D-animated comedy "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" finished second with $28.5 million and a 12-day cumulative of $120.6 million. Paramount's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" was third with $24.2 million and a $339.2 million cumulative after three weekends.Universal's Johnny Depp gangster film "Public Enemies" came in fourth place with $14.1 million and a $66.5 million cumulative.Disney's Sandra Bullock-Ryan Reynolds romantic comedy "The Proposal" placed No. 5 with $10.5 million for a cumulative of $113.8 million in its fourth weekend.
