Updated studio estimates Monday broke the supposed tie in the race for boxoffice bragging rights this weekend, with Paramount's "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" topping the domestic pack with $42.4 million.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox's "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs" came in second place with less than $42 million in Friday through Sunday boxoffice. On Sunday, both Paramount and Fox estimated their films had taken in $42.5 million in boxoffice over the three-day Fourth of July weekend.

The "Transformers" sequel has a $293.5 million cumulative for its first 12 days in domestic release. "Ice Age" has a $67.5 million cumulative since opening Wednesday.

Universal's Johnny Depp gangster film "Public Enemies" made $26.2 million for the weekend and $41 million since its Wednesday opening.

“The Proposal” came in fourth with $12.8 million for a cumulative of $94.2 million while “The Hangover” showed its strong legs again finishing fifth with $10.4 million for a $204.2 million total.
